Otto’s Lock Service was founded in 1970 by Otto Patzelt. After an early career in the defense industry, Otto pursued his lifelong interest of locksmithing by starting out as an apprentice, which eventually led to opening his own business in Fairfield which has continued to grow every year since.
Betty Patzelt, Otto’s wife, has been answering the phone and scheduling work since the beginning. She is a friendly and knowledgeable help to customers who – with her years of experience – can answer your questions.
Otto and Betty’s son Joe started to accompany his father on jobs as a child, learning the trade along the way. His position grew to part-time through his high school and college years. After graduating Bryant College in 1993, Joe took a corporate accounting job where he learned, among other things, how much he enjoyed locksmithing and the family business.
Otto’s Lock Service is a true family business. The locksmiths are Otto and Joe exclusively. They deliver friendly, quality service that only a family member and owner can provide. Otto and Joe continuously further their knowledge of new products and technology to be able to provide their customers with the highest level of security and safety.
Otto’s Lock Service is licensed with the state of Connecticut, bonded and fully insured.
